WORKSHOPS

Our interactive and educational workshops are a part of our commitment to uplift, encourage and inspire members of our community to their highest sense of self. Keeping in line with our “for us, by us” montra, we seek to invite other Black Queer or Trans identified individuals from around the region who specialize in different disciplines to come and facilitate the sessions.

FESTIVAL

Our Black Pride festival is a vibrant and welcoming family-friendly event, celebrating the history and creativity that is Black Queer Rochester. This event features a wide variety of merchants, performances, food and games all within a dedicated “safe space”. We spotlight local performers, small businesses, community organizations, and voter registration efforts.

Like many of our other events, our goal is to foster community growth and to connect community members to resources both familiar & new all while having a great time.

 SUMMER NIGHTS:

CELEBRITY CONCERT

We give it to you every year, and this time it's no different - our annual concert series that is sure to bring down the house!

Cakes Da Killa, an NYC native, has been traveling the country and the world, creating space for Black queer artists in hip-hop through their spitfire delivery, complex and witty wordplay and fearless, with the shits attitude.

Miss Shalae, ballroom legend and veteran showgirl, and probably the best Beyonce impersonator, with acknowledgment from the Queen Bee herself, delivers high octane and emotionally charged performances that rival today's and yesterday's pop stars.

We'll also be featuring our local talent, showcasing our drag performers, musicians and dancers.
